To me they do... my best friend in highschool had a '98 GT to my '97 Cobra. We both had flowmasters etc. The cobra had a distinctly different sound at higher rpms, more exotic. While the GT was deeper and just "different". The 5.0's are easy to tell from a mile away.
Obviously the cobra can rev higher and breathes better at a higher RPM so way up top it will sound different. But if you can tell a difference at 2k-5k from a 2V/4V then props to you.
I agree 5.0's sound completely diff than a modular.
