try an estimated 18% powertrain loss buddy. 15% is very conservative. Remember we're talking FWD. and at that sceme i should be making about 180 HP. assuming that my car has 150k miles on it and it has never been retuned that's about right. and that 220 is at the fly. also it should be noted making this type of comparison the h22 was designed and built when? The 3.0l/3.2l SHO motor made by yamaha was designed and built in 1985 By Yamaha. Only in 1989 was it put into a production car. The gen I SHO Taurus. In stock form (from yamaha) the engine made 300hp at the crank. Ford made the fuel pump weaker, the cam profile cooler, downsized the TB and MAF, made a extremely quiet and very restrictive air induction system, and went to a smaller header and less costly and easier to fit 2-1-2 exhaust system.
The reason ford did this is because with the engine in the stock setup it would be much more costly (would've cost at least 2,000 more per car) and would've also made the SHO the most powerful car in fords line up untill '95. The '93 SVT Cobra only made 235hp by comparison.
