Josepi: Yeah that bypass valve is damn good, i know a few folks that are using it... however im a sucker for the vrrrm psssh
Skywalker: yeah, its from australia, i'm looking to buy one from an importer (a VW shop) out in california.
its a hybrid valve, basically twin exits, one w/ a trumpet for the coolness effect, and one which is designed to act as a CBV (Compressor bypass valve) which vents air back into the turbo inlet side downstream from the metering plate...
So far GFB (go fast bits) is the only company i've seen that makes a hybrid. anyone know of anyothers?
The reason it would be better on my car then a normal blow off valve is that my car doesnt have an air mass meter, its for a mechanical injection system just like the old VW, Porsche, and Mercedes had called a Bosche K-Jetronic:CIS (constant injection system) where the air level coming in must push a plate open which then moves some valves in a fuel distributor... thus blowing off large amounts of air between shifts (15+ psi usually does it in larger volume bov's) will cause the air/fuel mixture to stoich quite quickly and cause backfires if you're running rich anyway.
So basically the adjustable feature on this one allows me to tweak the volume of air thats released into the atmosphere vs. what gets set back into the inlet...
