gee, a blown head gasket on a Quad 4? never seen that....
11.5 hrs labor, and 325 for a head set. not to mention it is HIGHLY advised to replace the timing chain, gears, guides, and tensioner when you are in there. oh yeah, the timing cover gasket is not included in the head set, it is 76 bucks.
and add headbolts too (torque to yield) 56 bucks.
it is NOT a job for the faint of heart, or non competent mechanic.
i think 700 bucks is a pretty good deal, considering that if it was done at my shop (i am in SWVA, and labor rate is dirt cheap at 40/hr) you are looking at 800-1000 bucks.
you get what ya pay for....not to mention there is a good posssiblity of damaged bearings (coolant in oil does not do well for bearings)
