I was under the impression that the MX6 used a Mazda motor. The same one that the Probe uses. If it is a Ford motor here, then it's a Mazda motor in Japan that's in the MX6, I know that for sure.
The Ford Probe V6 is the one that used a Mazda Engine from the MX-6
