Default Pedal Feel

The Pedal feel is determined by two things with drum brakes, the hydraulic system, as well as the self adjuster. IF you want to have better pedal feel bleed your brakes, and drive in reverse several times each time coming to a quick hault. This should set the self adjuster unit particularly after installing new shoes. Once the pedal feel is good and youa re still getting high speed fade, get better shoes and resurface your drums, they also have heat sinked drums available to reduce heat buildup.
