Some of us have significant others so pulling ass isn't an issue. As far as greek life goes, it just sounds like you paying a charter fee for friends. So essentially your are buying friends. Lastly as far as meeting people goes many commuters meet other commuters because of same situation or don't care for meeting or having a social life with some of the fools that attend there because we already have a social life outside of school. Plus who would want to live on campus if they can have a nice ass two bedroom (1100 sq ft) apartment you share with you woman that your parents pay for and it only takes less than 5 minutes to get to classes(like me, with ass on demand not having to worry about "pulling" in any).
So i would have to say "to each their own", in this conversion about commuter vs on campus.
