You should read up some. There were Skylines loooong before there was such thing as the Skyline GT-R. The Skyline was basically a nicer Nissan passenger car and they decided to give it testicles and called it the Skyline GTR. The Skyline/G35 keeps with that name very well. As far as driving the 2007 GT-R based on the G35, I would rock one in a heartbeat. I think it's a good-looking, fast, and handles well.
Honestly, I could care less if Nissan were to make a small rwd roadster and call it the new 240sx. Honda has the S2000, Toyota has/had the MR-S, so why not Nissan? Hell, Ford did the same thing with the Capri.
