My truck ran 13.4 @ 104.8 stock. Stock Lightnings have about 340-370 rwhp and about 425 rwtq. Around $1000 mods later 12.55 @ 108. Now I have 436rwhp and 560 rwtq. Let's see a $33,400 truck with $1000 worth of mods running mid 12's vs. a $52,000 500 hp truck running at it's best 14's flat @ less mph. Then the after market parts for the srt10 are crazy. One of the cheaper performance kits made for them is $42,000 and they say that will put you about 10.9 @ 127. So $52,000 for the truck and another $42,000 for the kit for a total of $94,000 just to run 10's. You put $10,000-15,000 in a Lightning you'll run 10's easy. If you take the price difference between $34,000 Lightning and $94,000 Performanced packaged SRT10, you could do a whole lot with $60,000 difference with the Lightning. A $94,000 Lightning would probably be in the 7's. LOL. BTW used Lightnings go for about $20,000-30,000. Used srt10's are still around $47,000-52,000. Yes I have seen used ones that cost the same as a new one. I guess dodge figures they have something great there. Sad part is some sucker will pay that much for a new one or even a used one. Here is a link to a SRT10 upgrade place. Check out the prices and what they say the truck could do. Which in truth is probably stretching it a little.
