It's not quite the simple. I wouldn't rev a stock bottom LS/VTEC over 7k anyways, especially not boosted.

I say boost the B16. Thats what I've got and I put down almost 260fwhp on 9psi with a shitty tune. The nice thing about the B16, is the gas mileage is still excellent, and driving around town, you don't normally see boost, unless you want to, which helps keep your motor in tact for a much longer time. Bolt on some slick, and take it to the track, and you won't have to worry about the low end. Because of the high revs available, you can launch in boost, and never fall out. Lack of low end also helps a whole lot with traction issues.
