I would definately get a lawyer and go to court in an effort to get it thrown out. I would specify to the lawyer that you want it thrown out and not just reduced. Or, if reduced, to a non moving violation. IE: Improper Equiptment. (If you realy do think you blew a tire) That way, it won't hurt your record and also won't affect you in the YEARS to come. IE: Possibly getting a job where they may take you driving record into account or anything like that.
I have even been to court before where the oficer was not present. The judge said he was going to reschedule the court date. My lawyer went and had a 30 second converstion with him, and it was dropped, not reduced! If it wasnt for him, I would have had to go back another day and face my Wreckless driving charge.
