make sure it has been maintained! like stated earlier, they are good cars, but they really need to have the maint. done on them (ie, timing belt, tune up, water pump, etc) higher milage used ones are rather common, and at a good price, but be aware of the cost of repairs on some things.

there have been some issues with the headlamp circuits i have heard (no firsthand experience with the later Audi electrical problems like the older models did, i guess they are getting that taken care of) and make sure its got a good alignment on it too.

there are three recalls out for that year:

00V414000-excessive tie rod wear
99V131001-brake booster vacuum valve failure
99V248000-tie rod seal failure

i would check to see if they had been done first though.
