Default Re: ATTN V8 GUYS!!! I'de like a little information on LT-1's

An LS1 can get expensive, but it sure doesn't have to.

My car got dropped off for the knife on Sunday. The stock long block will be out in a week or so.

I got ALL new covers for the new shortblock so that the others could be left on the engine that is being pulled out. I'll also have the stock fuel rails and injectors.

Go to ls1tech.com and check the for-sale section. They have lt1 bits too.

All you need is a PCM (I have seen them programmed specific to any setup you need selling for 150 on eBay), wiring harness, coil pack and coil mounts. I am leaving sensors like crank sensor, cam sensor, etc intact, as do others commonly who pull and sell.

Oh yeah, you will need a waterpump, stock intake(01 and 02s have ls6 intake=more HP), and a balancer. Both could be junkyard parts, as well as the coils and possibly harness.

Since you will be making some of the exhaust anyway, a used set of shorty headers could be found if you look around for 100 bucks or less.

The LT1 was originally rated for like 260-280 CRANK HP. My LS1 made 303RW with heavy-ass 17x11" ZR1s and 315/35s stock running untuned and turbo-rich.

I'm not even saying buy mine, but if I did the swap I know which one I'd go with. Think about the car and the long-run; you KNOW which one will be more satisfying.
