Tuning a MAF set-up is actually more involved than a MAFless. The reason MAFs exist is:
1. They increase fuel efficiency during transient throttle positions.
2. Allow for degradiation of components during the lifetime of the engine
3. Safety of the engine when any of the following takes place, bad fuel, bad injectors, or poor airflow. Really important if you run wet/dry N2O kits.
for what Royalty is planning on using the LT1 for, it definitely seems that he should use a MAF. im not a mind reader but it doesnt sound like he's planning on using a big power blower setup and from his research he has already learned he can use a 93-97 LT1. therefore there is room under the hood for a MAF.
