It's more maintenance than your average piston car, but if you only drive it as much you say you will, and you don't do anything stupid when you do drive it, you should be ok. The only problem would be the previous driver of the car, because if they abused it, more than likely something will go out on you. If you can find a car with moderate miles maintained by someone who knew how to take care of the FD, you shouldn't have any problems, or they'll let you know of potential problems.
By the way would you consider doing any kind of swap? If so, there was a thread in the 7club about a guy with an FD getting a 20B, but he removed all of the turbo components and put in NA rotors (I can't remember if it was from an all motor FC or not), custom fabbed a header and exhaust and all that, and put out like 300 rwhp untuned. He shed the weight of the turbo components, but added the reliability of a NA motor, and loved the power and response. Something to think about.
