With that being said I'll probably return to 93oct shortly, at which point Id imagine Id still have more power than 99% of the people I ever encounter. It won't be quite as fast, but it still moves damn quick fo a near 400awhp car which is more than just about every wrx, dsm, and evo says. I went to the dyno to tune for what I felt the best was that I could do at this moment. I didn't attempt to purchase any higher octane gas than I have been running, or generally run at the track when I go. Again, I'm not really worried about it, everyone has their own opinions, and for some reason you seem really down about my dyno which I really don't know why.
Consider this though, 110oct is very easy to acquire and its 5 dollars a gallon. 93oct is around 2.50 a gallon right now. That is 2.50 difference per gallon, or say 37.50 per tank full of gas. Lets try to figure out how many mods it generally takes to gain 40-50awhp and see how many tank fulls it takes to begin to cost more? My guess is it's closer to 1000 bucks, which would come to something rediculous like 30 tankfulls. At 300 miles per tankfull, we're approaching 9000 miles of driving on pure race fuel before it began costing more than it would have otherwise. Not to get into math but I just dont see why race fuel is bashed so much? It's just another mod, only this time you're modding your fuel. It doesnt gain you any power, it just allows you to push your setup further.
Couldn't fathom saying it better myself. I couldn't agree more.
