i did not use a clear on the chrome . The Chrome looks good enough by itself and you dont need one with this powder . The directions actually dont suggest using one . It dulls it out a bit .I do add 2-3 coats just to give it more durability . You dont need to add a clear to smooth it out unless its a texture / wrinkle ' or maybe have some kind of texture to it .
