It might be hard at first, but they'll find other jobs and they'll be happier not working for a morally pathetic company.

In an ideal world, Ford will continue to deteriorate and die out completely, Toyota will merge with GM and conveniently forget to renew the UAW contracts in 2008, and we'll start seeing more and more quality "domestic" cars put together by people who actually want to build cars.
