Re: Need a affordable & reliable place for tranny work
its an auto tranny so i'm not sure whether or not i would be up to the challenge lol.
when i pulled the CEL code the only thing in the Helms manual for the code was "Automatic Transaxle", so I'm still not convinced the entire tranny needs to be rebuilt/replaced. I'm going to try to get it to Amoco tomorrow and have them check it out too. It wouldn't be the first time a dealership tried to overcharge me on something.
if it is the whole tranny, I'm assuming that I can get one at a junkyard with <40k miles for around less than $500 but I've never called around for used trannies so I don't know.
