if i was gonna get a new 600, i'd go with the new r6, or the cbr. haven't ridden the new yami yet, but i hear good things. i LOVE riding the 600rr though. it just suits my riding style very well.

though the honda has kick ass reliability, replacement parts are EXPENSIVE
the yamaha parts are cheap, compared to every other 600 i've seen.

still don't know why yamaha's oem parts are so cheap compared to honda's/ suzuki's/kawi's???

an r1 crank is under $400, but a 1000rr crank is over $800?? hell, even an sv650 crank is $600 or so.
