If you are racing the car and shifting correctly, no one should be catching up to you as they have to shift as well and the hundreths you each lose will equal.
I dont know any racer that chooses the LS trans over an ITR or GSR. THE ITR may be a little too short, but the GSR is best suited for a boost app.
The highest RPM is not always in you powerband.... nore is that always helping you .... with most vtec motor you have a short powerband and you dont want to fall much during a shift.... but with a high hp car with a strong power badn you can use it to your advantage .... im not going to try to explane this again...
