Its the fact that they won't pull people over for it, but the second you do something else, they will tack that on too. You're right, even if it was an import they wouldn't of pulled them. I haven't seen or heard of someone I know getting directly pulled over for exhaust. My friends exhaust sounds stock, the only real difference is the sound of the wastegate. I just think the worst part of the exhaust law is that its just used to get more money from you.


Here's another question I have. How come muffler shops are allowed to install illegal exhausts on cars? If its illegal, they shouldn't be allowed to even install them. If you buy an exhaust from an online site, of course local regulations aren't gonna come into play with them. A local shop on the other hand, knows the regulations, yet still installs the illegal systems on cars. I guess it isn't illegal to purchase or install an aftermarket exhaust, its just driving with it.
