When I said Virginia Highway Patrol I was under the impression that highway patrol officers worked for the state, and that different states used different terminology (State Police, Highway Patrol, etc). Sorry for the typo.

And after looking at my last post I realize how retarded it sounded. Smokeybear sounds like a level headed person no matter if he is really an officer or not and I respect the fact that you will answer peoples questions in an adult way with your knowledge of our states laws and how they work/are interpreted. So all in all, officer or not, I applaud your efforts in getting the facts straight on these ticket issues.
