Cars like the XJ220 and McLaren are brought in via ICI. They certify it for highway use the same way a Skyline would be.
In the case of the McLaren it required (in 1997) the removal of the 2 side seats, adding a front bumper and changing out the headlights. That's what the company that brought one of them over has said publically anyway.
Don't forget for $1M you also get a gold plated titanium tool set and a CD player that can withstand 1.5G with the car among other goodies
