If he has full insurance, total it. Prob not worth it. It may just be 'damp' now, but wait for the mold to start groing and hes gonna hate it. It also will cause a lot of connections to corrode and the car will probably forever be an electrical nightmare. Water can get into more places then you knew your car had.
