the weakest link of a ls/vtec is the rod bolts...the bolts are 8mm as compared to the 9mm from the gsr and type r...the ls bolts will stretch from the higher RPM if they are not changed... this is why it is highly recommended to change these to ARP rod bolts on a ls/vtec...the rest of the bottom end will hold up as long as it is put together correctly...also...the b20 crank is the b18 crank..the extra displacement comes from the 84mm bore as opposed to a 81mm bore
