This is a stupid argument. Vtec is a tool, just like turbo's, just like intercoolers, etc. It serves the unique function of allowing a engine to have multiple personalities, mild and wild. That is it. Nothing more nothing less. Just becuase you have Vtec doesn't me anything, neither does having a turbo or nos. It is all in how it is done that things begin to get interesting. In the end forced induction is obviously more powerfull in the end. For a street NA engine vtec/vvl is nice to have. Not required but real nice. How many docile daily driver 185whp/145tq 2.0 liter cars do you know that dont have vtec. None. That is the purpose of vtec. Dual personalities.
