Yes. The B18 GSR head will give you slightly higher compression even after porting. But the main thing you need to look at is part compatibility. With a GSR head you HAVE to use a GSR intake manifold and you'll have to have a GSR ECU to use the GSR throttle body. This only applies to the B18C GSR. B17 GSR heads are more like all the other VTEC heads.

Other heads (B16, ITR, B17) have interchangeable parts and have much more aftermarket support.

I'd go with a B16 head just to save the heartache.
