I know Just giving you shit. My buddy Joe's has Kooks LT headers w/ cats and the stock catback and it sound very good. I got to drive it this past May. When cruising w/ the baffles closed it's pretty much as quiet as stock, almost silent. When in comp mode the baffles open at 3000 rpms (vs. 3500 normally) and it makes a very very good sound, still a hair quite, but enough to make me happy. Retaining the whisper cruise mode is very cool.

I'd pickup a set of headers first (LGM, American Racing, or Kooks) w/ cats and see how you like it. Reson being that a catback for the car is $1800 which is a total rip.

If you search on the corvetteforum you'll see where someone cut open the stock mufflers and did some work to keep it quiet at stock but make it as close to a true straight pipe as possible with the baffle open.

Also, B&B has come out with a new catback called the fusion that uses the factory vaccum operated baffle system so you still get dual mode, however I think it's a bit louder than stock in both cruise and un-corked.

I know too much about the stupid things... can't you tell I don't like them at all
