As I was driving on the highway the other day, while I was taking an exit the car just shut off. Every time I tried to start the car, it will turn on and then immediately shut off. As it shuts off it would backfire as well.

So far I've done the following:

-Changed throttle body
-Fuel pump
-Fuel Rail/injectors
-Engine Harness (one of my vacuum hoses looked like it was chewed by a rat)


I've spent two days on this already and I've spoken with several local mechanics and they have no idea either. They were the ones that suggested to replace the parts I listed above. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
what does any of this have to do with a backfire? try ecu, distributor, timing belt, or spark plugs.
