I usually advance search my name to find the threads i posted in, however its not working properly anymore, as in the most recent threads i posted in arent at the top anymore.

The search results are sorted by the last posting time by anyone, the last time you posted has no effect on it (unless you show results as posts). Your most recent post won't always be the first result.
