could be a few things..

-fuel filter
-fuel pump
-plugs/wires/cap need to be replaced
-something in the distributor
-timing issue
-tps sensor

is there a check engine light ?

does the car bog and pop at like 2500-3k rpm and then it drives fine for a minute, then does the same thing again ?...if so.. tps sensor for sure.
