Go with Navy Federal. I was an E1 and I asked for $12,000 for a used car and I got approved the next day. $12,000 for 48 months at 4.9%.

You don't have to change banks. I still bank with Wachovia. NFCU is a MUCH better bank, but I live on the Peninsula and they don't have any brances up here.
They're opening two branches on the peninsula soon. One off Jefferson in Newport News and one on Magruder Blvd. and Executive Dr. in Hampton.
