honestly though,i can't see you getting anything more than the value of the damage to the vehicle.people destroy cars all day long due to blatant disregard for the law.this is no different.nobody was hurt......i just don't see a lawsuit holding up.
i'd definitely contact your insurance ASAP.i got a lot of grief from mine when i didn't file after a person hit me.the person that hit me never did file a claim with their company, and it was much harder for me to get things started after i waited a week or so to figure out the offender didn't have any intention of doing so.if this turns into something that goes on your uninsured policy(if they never charge a driver of the truck),you want to be sure you've taken all necesary steps.
good luck

With roughly 3 years of insurance and subrogation background, I would be nearly willing to guarantee they will get their money. I wasn't saying they could expect a million dollar settlement, but they will get what they are owed because there is plenty of evidence as to who/what hit and ran.

I have background with commercial liability, and private passenger... Corporate world is handled much different IMO as far as when a vehicle with a corporate logo driven by an employee hits a private passenger vehicle and runs or fails to report the accident. It's different than if Joe Schmoe were hit by an ordinary John Doe drunk driver that hits them and runs like in my situation I went through.
