Tons of people are doing it because you can get into the game cheaply, no matter if its right or not.

I wasnt speaking of racing anything. Just agreeing that turbo Hondas are popping up everywhere.

Thats what the was for. But I was only half joking. IF they are tuned correctly and driven properly they will last forever, much like anything.

Matt Shue is the shit. He doesnt even use my dyno anymore and I still recommend him to everyone I meet in need of a Honda or non-Ford tune.
I agree. Except on the breaking part. As much as people want to joke about Mitsubishis breaking and such, it always cracks me up going ot the local hangouts because all the honda boys are blowing shit up left and right. axles, trannies, motors, etc seems almost like weekly routine. They break 10x more shit than anything else, at least around here. the difference is in the mindset. when a honda breaks, it's from too much power, so it's excused. they were probably breaking the world landspeed record when it broke, according to their story at least. If it's not a honda, they broke it because the car is junk.

The "cheap to make fast" thing is an illusion. Nothing is cheap to make fast. Any car is a money pit if you try to make power and go fast. I can make fun of Hondas for being twice as expensive as DSMs to get into the 12s all I want.. but the fact is when you start to get closer to 10s it all starts to even out, along with a lot of other cars (though streetability could be argued... that's a whole other issue.. just talking straight track time ability here). If you want to go fast you're gonna have to dump loads of money into a car no matter what it is. The appearance of a cheap upgrade path is just a mind trick, especially with imports. The only car that i'd say is TRULY cheap to make fast is a 5.0 mustang. Everything else is just a moneypit.
