I do. I love it. I think I've learned more in the past year than I did in the rest of my time at school combined. There's all sorts of clubs/fraternities/etc to help you find a good job once you get out. You just have to actively seek out the help because it doesn't just come to you.

And take it from someone who's grown up as the son of a mechanic, who was also the son of a mechanicm who was also a mechanic for 5 years themselves (in other words, my dad's a mechanic, my grandfather's a mechanic, and I was a mechanic for 5 years myself)...working on cars is a fun hobby, but it sucks as a career. There's no real upward mobility in the field, thus you're basically stuck in a dead end job making 40k - 80k/year depending on how good you are and there could always be a 20k fluctuation in your earning from one year to the next. You starve in the winter time if you don't put money away the rest of the year, it's hot in the summer, cold in the winter, killer on your back, and your hands are permanently dirty. Basically...it's no way to live if you ask me.

disclaimer: All apologies to those of you out there who work on cars for a living, but I grew up in the industry, so I think I have adequately earned the right to express my opinion on it.
