Florida laws and point system is TOTALLY different compared to VA's system. Find out what the 5 tickets were about and when she received them. Each year, points drop from the FL liscence and you are allowed a maximum of 12 points. The judge up here will not see the Fl driving record I don't believe but might be best to get a lawyer for just in case. How bad were the other speeding tickets and what county(s) did she get them in? She might want to check to see how many points she has on her liscence and see if a ticket in Virginia would transfer points to her Florida liscence. She has to call Fl. for all that info though. The morons that run the DMV would have no clue on whether she would get points from a Va ticket transferred to her Fl liscence.

Florida is a pretty lenient state when it comes to speeding especially down in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County. Between Broward, Palm Beach, and Brevard County in Fl, I have had at least 9 tickets but was still able to hold on to my liscence with only one suspension because the lawyer didn't tell me that he lost. That record was from when I was 16 to 21. Most of them are speeding, 1 invalid registration, 1 wreckless. The wreckless was an easy win because all I had to do was point out that I did not endanger anybody's life, etc..

I hope this will help her out. Good luck with winning!
