i have a 2000 chevy malibu, auto, stock(engine wise)...would it be smart/safe to put nitrous in it?
Nitrous is in its element on a stock motor.....For instance you can prolly run an 80 shot safely on your stock malibu, Bolt on a turbo or supercharger you get less bang for your buck ...Without a built motor I wouldnt run more than a 30 shot on a boosted I4 and a 50 shot on a boosted 6 Cyl.......Nitrous is not dangerous for your motor.....Its the install and the Aftermarket parts you put in it after you start sprayin.......For example putting agressive cams in your car is acceptable, but you have to drop shot.....Or you can run a NOS cam that has a longer exhaust duration.....no matter what you dont want to raise compression to high and you never under any circumstances want to advance your timming (Most chips) (Some cams) When you advance your timing you cause detonation witch blows your motor.........Does that answer your question?
