sr's arent all that, kojima needs to step down on his ego and shit talking about other nissan motors that were designed for different purposes. Cam choice and i/e manifold design decide how the car makes power. But i'd like to put a KA head on an SR bottom end. The direct acting valvetrain of the KA has such a high revving capability and no fear of breaking parts with no rocker arms or valve lash adjusters. You know what you get if this was possible? an RB series motor, stout bottom ends with direct acting vavletrain. dunno why the SR is a bastard motor.
i romped on an SR this weekend with my 5psi KAT. yeah JR from maryland runs mid 13's and i took him out at 5psi. revving to 6200rpm. This KA was meant for torque, so you have to use it correctly to go fast. A ka can be just as fast if not faster than an SR, there was a thread i wrote a while ago with dyno comparisons of a KA being vastly superior to my own home brewed SR20 setup in the race car. try to find it.
the fastest 240 in the country ran a 10.83@ 130something. it used a KA.
as for what motor to use, you have to decide that. but another one to throw into the selection box is a VG30DETT from a 300z TT. or even a NA VG. its not hard no custom mounts are needed. if you decide to go this route i'll tell you how.
