I would say the average is low 30's for most tires, but some things, like my mich power races have wierd pressures, 32F/24R.

Some of the tire company's websites have lists that have recommended pressures according to your bike, if that fails then just call them up, they should be able to tell you or can direct you to someone there who can.

Most imporant, what bike, tire, and size are we talking about?
i've got an 04 636 with bridgestone battleaxes on it right now, 120/65 up front and 180/55 in the rear. they will soon be replaced with some pilot powers more than likely, or metzler M3's if i can
