There is nothing that you can really check that would show if it was more prone to crank walk then any other 7 bolt DSM motor, it seems to happen at any mileage. If you press in the clutch and the idle drops then thats probably crankwalk. Look like your looking at any other car, turbo shaft play, fluid leaks, tranny grinding (I think DSM trannys are a little notchy but just as long as it doesnt grind). I cant think of any major recalls but you should check
