a thicker head gasket would lower your compression and would give you more leeway from getting detonation. fine tuning is basically setting your timing/fuel curves to where they need to be to get as much power as possible out of the motor as it is in that point in time. the best way to tune the car is w/ hondata or something similiar. another option you could look at is an SMC or AFC....
