I have no sympathy for drunk drivers either but I pray that the majority of the population who don't think anything of putting the keys in the ignition and driving off after a few drinks get an eye opener before they hurt themselves or someone else.

No one deserves to die for a mistake. They should have an opportunity to learn from it, whether that means being placed in handcuffs and serving jail time, being forced to go to an alcohol class, or losing their driving priviledges and vehicle for x amount of time. Unfortunately most people never get that eye opener or second chance before they take someone elses (or their own) life. It's all over at that point.
