Carbon clutches are not a good choice for the street, they need heat. 1300 dollars for an exedy twin disk and 3000+ for a carbon clutch is kind of hard to say "you might as well". There are multiple other twin disk setups that arent 1300. Hell dave in this thread got his QM for 800, the same that you paid for a single disk 6 puck.
I think you might be mistaking what car he drives. He recently put down mid 500whp on meth from what I hear, and it is indeed a evo, and from what I understand clutch prices are alittle higher than the dsm clutches.
As far as which clutch to go with, I spent 650 shipped for a fidanza flywheel/ ACT 2900 w street disc. It was cheap and I knew it would at least hold 500whp, if I have to put a 6 puck in it then so be it. The 2900 is so much lighter than the old 2600 PP I had in there, and the drivability with the street disc is awesome, real smooth. Had I not been in such a money bind from all the motor costs I spent I would of gone with a twin disc.
