I was at the apex of turn 6 on the South course, dragging pegs like a bitch, and lifted the rear tire off the track, therefore sending me into a nice low side. I wound up landing in some mud and hit my head pretty good on the ground. The 500 was alright other than a dented gas tank, a bent handle bar, and a shaved down kick stand.
I rode back to the paddocks, cleaned up the bike, received some more instruction on body position, and was back on the track for the next heat.
All in all, it was a positive experience with a lot of things to work on before the next track day. I would definitely recommend doing a track day with riding lessons for first timers. Props to the folks at Pro-Motion.
