You're high. Even a buffoon (read: AIRMAN) can field strip a 1911 without any instruction. It's HIGHLY arguable that it's even easier, much less vastly easier.
And, for the record, the Marine Corps was vehemently opposed to the M9 and has been trying to go back to a .45 since it's adoption. The Air Force, however, was delighted, since the 9mm round wasn't so hard on their delicate little hands.
None-the-less, a M9 is easier to take down than a M1911. But this is dumb, because that's basically the only thing the M9 has going for it. Are you aware, Tim, that the Air Force, and only the Air Force, is pushing to get the .45ACP back? I don't remember what month it was, but it was in the Air Force Times a couple months back.
