I remember the Texaco incident and also the Wachovia getting robbed. But the area isn't that bad. I've lived in College Park for 10+ years and I still live my life normally without feeling threatened. Hell, I went for a run last nite at around 11pm and didn't even see the first person outside. My only real complaint about this area is all the broken glass on the sidewalks. Can't even walk my dog without having to stay focused on the ground 10 ft. in front of us so he doesn't step on some.
