One thing I can tell you about E36 M3's..
You see, M3 engines produce a nice amount of torque and factory transmission mounts don't keep up and shift just enough so that say you are shifting from 3rd to 4th at WOT, you might come back into 2nd and your motor suddenly spins to 10,000 rpms and if you're like me end up spending $8500 to fix it. So your first mod should be UUC transmission reinforments.
But these cars are incredible, the E36 chassis 95-99 offer a feel that the newer E46 counterparts cannot begin to achieve. If you have any other questions.. please don't hesitate to ask, as most the E36 guys I know are tue enthusiast and are more than willing to share what we know about our machines.
