they were designed for racing classes that didnt let you run vtech or vvt-i motors and so on and so forth. yes u need to up the compression and ur idle will deff be shitty. so if ur planing on doing it i would just sell ur motor and buy a ls and build the shit out of it. no point in building a vtech motor just to take away the vtech in the end and lose ur power band
