Uhh, is there a catch to it or something? Is it supposed to be automatically dropped or is it only dropped if you're fighting it? I got a ticket on the way to D.C. this past weekend by a state trooper who made it very clear that I "certainly don't have to come to court." I'd like to go and fight it anyway, since I was in the middle of a large pack of cars traveling above the speed limit. In a case like that, I think it's actually safer to keep up with traffic than make yourself a hazard.
